Supermarkets have jumped on new Smart Phone apps to make
shopping easier in their stores.
“We understand that mobile apps are changing the way consumers
shop and are excited to be the first supermarket company in the United States
to offer this option to customers,” said Mark McGowan, president, Stop &
Shop New England Division.
The new Smart Phone app includes
scanning, tallying the total dollar amount of purchases, checking out, and
receiving personalized offers based on each customer's past purchasing history.
Now, wouldn’t it be nice if someone showed YOU, which store has
the best prices for YOUR future purchases?

phones can now help you find your way around grocery stores.
A Midwest chain is introducing 2.0
of its Find-It app, which relies on a combination of GPS, Wi-Fi and cellular
towers to show you where in the store you are.
Then, the
new feature plots the most efficient route for picking up items on a shopper's
list. As you enter the store, a pin
marks the closest product on an in-store map.
Then it plots your route to the next item.
